And the winner is …

The winner of last week’s giveaway was comment number 36 from Anja. I have sent her an email, and I hope she replies to claim her prize soon.

On a whim, I decided to create a runner-up prize. I am going to send a pattern to Fran too because her comment mentioned that she sews for Aussie Hero Quilts. I do not have time to make things for them, so it is nice to support others who do.

And as I cannot have a blog post without a picture of some random thing I made, here is a photo of the bag (or basket?) I sewed from the library book Sew-licious Little Things by Kate Haxell before I had to return it.

Denim and ticking bag

Yes, it did not take long for the bag to be filled with yarn.

Easing the base in while avoiding puckers was a bit of a pain, but I got there in the end. I cut ¼ inch from the lining depth so it did not bunch on the bottom, and I inserted a base of heavyweight interfacing. The bag pattern does not suggest any interfacing anywhere and would have been very floppy without. If I make it again, I would probably add interfacing to the outsides as well.

Happy sewing, everyone!

  1. I think that’s probably a bagsket, isn’t it? Whatever it is, I really like it, and feel it’s probably just as well you don’t have a cat, or you’d soon have to find another home for your yarn!

I appreciate your comments and will reply by email.
