I did not make any gifts for my family for Christmas this year, just Christmas wrapping, but I received a couple of crafty presents from other sewers.
From Sandy, I received this cute frame in our local sewing group’s Kris Kringle swap. What a clever idea: framing a quilt block! She even made it reversible. If I open the back, I can flip the block and display its pink side instead.
Serena of Sew Giving, part of the Possum Magic gang, made me this Liberty pouch. I think I will use it for my crochet hooks.
And to top it off, my husband signed me up for Blossom Heart Quilts’ Japanese colour club next year as my Christmas gift! Whoo hoo! Every month a bundle of fabrics I would not be able to buy locally will magically appear on our doorstep. I have found a perfect loophole in a fabric diet where I am trying to reduce my fabric purchases – encourage my husband to feed my habit!
I hope you are having a lovely Christmas with family and friends. Merry Christmas!
Gorgeous little gifts! I’d ask if your husband can give my husband the Japanese fabric club details as I have a birthday coming up soon… only I really, really don’t need more fabric, no matter how gorgeous. Next year isn’t going to be a fabric fast, more a question of ticking some existing projects off the list.
The link is just there in the post! My hubby also surprised me with an antique silver thimble from 1900, and it fits perfectly!
I am on a fabric diet, not a fast! 🙂 Like you, I have to focus my attention on ticking off some projects.
Oh goodness, those are just darling! And a fabric club! You can never go wrong there. 🙂
It is my first fabric club, so I am excited to see what arrives.
Your husband’s gift sounds so delightful – I can’t wait to see what fabric goodness you receive! Merry Christmas!
I expect a few quirky Japanese prints! I will be happy whatever comes. Sometimes fabrics outside my usual choices force me to try new things.
Happy Holidays to you and your family! You are a very lucky girl, beautiful presents and… a wonderful husband!
Yes, I am VERY lucky.
Very cute gifts. Never would have thought to frame a quilt block either. And I have 3 words for you — BEST HUSBAND EVER!
When he pulled out an antique silver thimble that fits perfectly, I had to agree with you!
Nice! I like that little frame so cute with that button.
I haven’t turned it over to the pink side as there is no button on the other side. I like the button too.
