Do you ever make deals with yourself? I do. I promised myself that when I finished half of my Dear Jane borders, I would allow myself to play with my new Ric Rac pattern.
Two happy hippos are off to a party in the rain.
The pattern is called ‘The Full Parade’ and includes a hippo, a polar bear, a giraffe and an elephant. Making the hippos was such fun and each pattern is the perfect size for one bit of felt. I think I need to buy some more safety eyes to expand my menagerie.
How do you reward yourself when you reach a sewing goal?

Generally it involves a visit to the fabric shop, I’m sorry to say. My to do is very insistent, I have so many ideas and the only thing that stops me going into a spin is the need to finish one project before I start the next. Probably my only sewing-related discipline…
I spend all my days in a spin of ideas and too little time to follow through.
I buy fabric! What better reward than to replenish the stash ; )

I have decided to temporarily cut back on fabric purchases. I expect I will be using chocolate as a reward instead!
Usually by buying fabric or starting something new! The hippos are very cute indeed!
I am trying to reduce my purchases (fabric and clothes), so I will be starting lots of new projects from my stash.
So cute!! I was going to say “buy fabric” but I tend to buy fabric whether I finish something or not!
I have talked myself into a fabric fast, so I expect I will be hitting the chocolate instead for a while.
I can’t think of a time recently when I’ve made a deal with myself. I wonder what that says about my negotiation skills.
I usually find negotiating with myself produces excellent results as I am the most reasonable person I know (or so I believe 🙂 ).
That giraffe is awesome … I might have to buy this pattern. My reward is starting something new. Right now I have too many WIP going so once those are under control then I will really get a reward.

Love the hippos! My friend is fanatical about giraffes. Might need to check these patterns out although I don’t know that I’d be any good at sewing anything three-dimensional.
They sew up surprisingly quickly and felt is forgiving. The next creature I make from this pattern will be the giraffe.
